PC games should never force you to play for as long as this game does! Apart from that, though, it's quite good. It's lots of fun, but has no saving, which really is a big drawback - this game is hard and is not short either. Still, it looks nice and plays decently at least, so it's definitely worth a try, even if I at least think it has some issues. The save system is unforgiving too, which makes things worse, and the controls could be better. It's a pretty good game, but it's very, very difficult this game may seem like Gradius at first, but it's much more of a borderline bullet-hell game, in some ways, and I never get very far in the game as a result. Hydorah - This is a horizontal-scrolling shmup. (Yes, this takes the name from those '90s "Gal Panic" "Qix with scantily clad or nude women" games, but it's completely different in gameplay, and while it does have scantily clad anime girls, mostly from the original To Heart, it does not have nudity.) So yeah, definitely play Gal Pani X. Gal Pani X - It's Qix crossed with a shmup! This game is amazing, and is really quite unique too there's nothing else quite like it all other Qix-style games I know of only let you move only along the sides of the field, or along lines you cut into it, but in this game you can move freely within the areas you've walled off, and have to do so to dodge the bullets, since unlike other Qix-style games you are vulnerable to enemy fire at all times. This kind of game is uncommon on the PC, so check it out! It's a hex-based, turn-based fantasy strategy game with some RPG elements, maybe a bit along the lines of a Fantasy General or Advance Wars (but with hexes) or something like that. Battle of Wesnoth - very good strategy game. I only played through the game once, but it was well worth it for sure. Cave Story - It is indeed quite good, and deserves the praise it gets. but still, the cute round characters and simple, fun gameplay make this still good, at least for those who remember it anyway, for sure. It's definitely best with two people, though, that AI is so, so unfair. Arcade Volleyball - a DOS classic! This classic CGA side-view volleyball game may be old, and the AI may be completely unfair, but still, I think it's at least somewhat held up. some of my favorite freeware games, all for the PC (mostly Windows, some DOS):
